Manatee Central
This railroad, the southern most location that we visit on the tour is near Parrish, FL, and in a truly tropical setting. The palm trees, the citrus trees, orchids, bananas, and the live oak trees covered in Spanish moss is a great location. And, with a fairly simple addition of some track and two switches totally cleared the bottleneck that this track has historically had. And, the weather was nice for a few days, with temperatures over 70. That is what I had expected for the whole trip.
I took delivery from Tom Bee for a new engineer's car that was purchased by Triad Live Steamers.
Now, the Saturday arrival did not go well, but that is a different story. The sinking of the motor home into the mud, and the broken water pipe just was very frustrating, but we got over it.
